Mahottari Muslims mark Id
Mahottarai, October 25:
Muslims celebrated ‘Id’ for two days in the district. While, some observed it yesterday after having sighted the moon on Monday, a majority of them celebrated the festival today.
The Muslim community began Roja (fasting) after gathering in a Masjid and performing Baju (purifying oneself by washing face and hands) in which they also recite the Namaj. The Roja concluded today after the rising moon was sighted yesterday night.
“Roja is one of the five fundamental things in Islam”, a Muslim mulawi Taher Hussian says, adding according to the Islamic Sariat, all adolescent Muslims have to observe Roja in the month of Ramjan.
