Main suspect of Rautahat VDC Secy abduction case nabbed

RAUTAHAT: An Office Assistant allegedly absconding after abducting and thrashing the Banjaraha VDC Secretary in the district forcing him to sign a cheque has been arrested by police.

Prem Shankar Barma, VDC Secretary, who was returning to his home in Gaur Municipality-2, was reportedly abducted and beaten black and blue by Office Assistant Umesh Yadav and some of his relatives nearby the Municipality office.

Abducted Barma was forced to sign the check of Rs 359,000 after the abductor threatened to kill him.

Locals had informed police immediately after the incident. Police, however, was able to arrest Pramod Yadav, a relative of Umesh, while releasing the victim from the abductors’ clutches.

According to Superintendent of Police, Sanubabu Thapaliya, acting on a tip-off, police have arrested Umesh from Rice Mill.

Thapaliya further said they have proceeded the case further, after taking Umesh in the custody.

Meanwhile, Sanjaya Singh, Technical Assistant at the VDC Office, informed that he is going to file a case with police against Umesh and his accomplices.
