Woman rescued from traffickers' clutch

KANCHANPUR: A woman was rescued by the Maiti Nepal in Kanchanpur from Gaddachauki, the western border of Nepal, on Saturday.

According to Maiti Nepal District Coordinator Maheshori Bhatta, the young girl was travelling to Kirgizstan for employment via New Delhi on a bus that departed from Kathmandu.

“We rescued her as she lacked official papers for her employment,” Bhatta added.

A man, identified as Narendra Mahat, accompanying her on the bus had fled the scene with the help of the assistant driver.

The rescued girl is being kept at the organisation’s transit home.
