Make NC strong to strengthen democracy: Leader Khand
BUTWAL: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Balkrishna Khand on Tuesday stressed the need for the party to become strong to strengthen the democracy, nationality and peace process.
Speaking at a training session for voter's education trainers held in Butwal of Rupandehi district yesterday, NC leader Khand expressed his belief that the left alliance was formed after the majority of the general public had supported the NC for the upcoming elections.
In the training session organised by the Central Election Coordination, the subcommittee of NC's Election Mobilisation Committee (EMC), EMC coordinator Khand claimed that the NC could secure 38 per cent victory in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies under the first-past-the-post system. He said, the number of winning seats could go up if the amounts of invalid votes were reduced.
On the occasion, NC General Convention representative Anita Sharma trained 170 participants from various districts under Province 5 in voting.
