SAPTARI: Police in Saptari district on Wednesday, arrested a man on the charge of killing his own wife in a minor dispute in Shambhunath Municipality-3.

The arrested has been identified as Mahesh Pandey.

Pandey had allegedly hit his wife Kushum Devi Pandey (40) with an iron pestle over a minor dispute, inflicting serious injuries in her head, according to Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh at the District Police Office, Saptari.

Kushum who had been undergoing treatment at the Biratnagar-based Koshi Zonal Hospital since November 17, breathed her last on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the arrestee has been brought to book in murder case and the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
