NUWAKOT: Authorities in Nuwakot district on Monday held a man on charge of trafficking human.

The arrested has been identified as Kumar Tamang (24) of Ghyangphedi in Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality-1 in Nuwakot district.

Tamang was nabbed from Jhapa while trying to traffic in a third woman to India after successfully trading in two women earlier. He was arrested on basis of complaint of the rescued woman who was being taken to India under a pretext of providing her good employment, according to police.

He had been on the run ever since he faced the charge of human trafficking on two counts, said police.

Tamang was presented before the Nuwakot District Court on Monday itself.

Meanwhile, he has been remanded in judicial custody for further investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rishi Ram Kandel at the Nuwakot District Police Office.
