RAJBIRAJ: A man in Saptari district threw acid at his wife's face leaving her with severe acid burns, police said.

The suspect has been identified as Amal Ram of Belhi (40) Chapena VDC-7 of the district.

The incident took place on Monday.

The victim, Betani Devi Ram Betani, is sent to the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital for treatment, the District Police Office, Saptari informed.

Police said that they are trying to find out the motive behind the attack.
