JITPUR, KAPILVASTU: A person died after the bicycle he was riding on collided with a tractor in Banganga Municipality-4 of Kapilvastu district on Monday night.

The identity of the deceased who appears to be in his mid 40s is yet to be established.

According to police, the incident occurred when the tractor (Lu 3 Ta 9141) en route from Gajeda to Dugga collided head-on with the bicycle at Tyankipur yesterday.

The critically injured cyclist was rushed to the Jitpur-based Community Hospital, however he breathed his last at 8:00 pm the same night during the course of treatment, informed Police Inspector Raju Karki, at the Area Police Office, Pipara.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent to the Taulihawa-based District Hospital for postmortem.

Police have impounded the tractor and search is on for the absconding driver for further investigation, said police.
