Man reportedly murdered by his wife, in-laws in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: A man died after he was allegedly thrashed by his in-laws in Saptari district on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dipendra Mandal (26) of Gidhkhora in Hanumannagar Municipality in the district.

According to police, Mandal's body was found one kilometre away from his in-laws' house in Maletha, Rajbiraj Municipality-9 of the district on Wednesday morning.

The family members of Mandal, after finding his body, filed a case with police accusing his wife Anjana Sah (22), father-in-law Ram Dayal Sah (45) and other family members of killing Mandal.

According to the deceased's family members, Anjana had invited Mandal to her maternal home, on the pretext of their daughter's birthday, where he was attacked and killed by the family last night.

Anjana is the second wife of Mandal. They had tied the knot two years ago after falling in love, however, Mandal had been living with his first wife Reshami Mandal, said Mandal's aunt Phulodevi Mandal.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three persons — Ram Dayal, his son Jay Prakash (25), and daughter Anjana — for their alleged involvement in the incident, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh at the District Police Office, Saptari.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
