Man who returned 10 tola gold to the owner

Pokhara, September 12

Chandra Bahadur Chhetri, a bus helper, has set a good example by returning gold jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees to its owner today.

The helper of a bus operating under Prithvi Highway Bus Operators’ Committee handed over a bag containing 10 tola gold jewellery worth about 600,000 rupees to the kin of the owner at the committee office in Pokhara today.

The jewellery belonging to Keshari Parajuli of Sirsekot-9, was handed over to her relative Bhim Parajuli.

Keshari, who had boarded the Pokhara-bound bus on Friday from Galyang of Syangja, had left the bag with an identity card in the bus itself.

Chhetri had come by the bag while cleaning the bus at Old Bus Park in Prithvichowk, Pokhara. After frequent failed attempts to contact the concerned person on the phone number mentioned on the identity card, he had informed the committee.

Meanwhile, Chhetri was honoured with Rs 5,000 and a shawl for his honesty by the concerned family.
