Man steals bank manager couple's ATM cards and then money

RAUTAHAT: A man who allegedly robbed a couple of their ATM cards of Rastriya Banijya Bank and withdrew a total of Rs 280,000 from their accounts in July has been arrested in Rautahat district.

According to police, the suspect, Dinesh Pandit of Mudbalawa-5 Rautahat, had first stolen Surendra Shah's diary, which contained his and his wife Anita's ATM cards along with the PIN codes, in Gaur. Shah is the branch manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank.

Using the cards, Pandit stole the amount on July 16 from the Rastriya Banijya Bank's ATM machine.

The bank's CCTV footage, however, helped police identify the thief. He was arrested from a location close to Nepal-India border on Friday evening, police said.
