Manager of Sita Air held
Police arrested manager of Sita Air, Prem Basnet, on Monday, for “selling tickets for twice the normal charge and giving preference to foreign tourists on the Mustang-Pokhara route”. Basnet was released eight hours later. He was released after he agreed to produce himself at the police office if the need arose. Police also charged the air company with turning its regular flight into a charter one. Locals in Mustang had warned the
company on Monday that its entry into the district will be banned for giving preference to foreigners over local passengers. Chief district officer Pradip Raj Kandel said Basnet’s case will be forwarded to the Civil Aviation Authority in Kathmandu for action.
