Maoist blockade sparks goods scarcity

Damak, November 21:

Traffic has come to a halt on the Damak-Rabi road section since Friday, triggering a scarcity of basic commodities in Rabi bazaar. The blockade was called by the Maoists. Last week, Maoist cadres had notified the locals of the blockade by posting notices in the Rakse bazaar. According to transport entrepreneurs, passenger buses and jeeps have not been plying here since Friday. The Maoists called the blockade after the Royal Nepal Army (RNA) established a camp in Rabi bazaar.
