Maoist killed in clash with locals
Nepalgunj, April 3:
One Maoist was killed and 12 persons injured in a clash between the Maoists and locals in Manma, the Kalikot district headquarters, yesterday. “A member of the Maoists’ Jana Sanskritik team, Khadka Nepali, was killed in the clash with locals yesterday. However, the administration received information on Tuesday only,” the Kalikot District Administration Office (DAO) said.
According to Chief District Officer Bed Bahadur Karki, Nepali’s body was taken to Surkhet for post- mortem today.
The clash in Manma occurred on the issue of the March 30 clash at Gela village development committee. Twelve persons — five locals, four UML activists, one Nepali Congress activist and two Maoists — were injured in the clash.
Of the injured, 10 persons were taken to Nepalgunj and Surkhet for treatment.
“NC and the UML activists beat up Nepali and killed him throwing him off a cliff,” said Maoist Kalikot in-charge Atom.
