Maoist students torch govt vehicles
RUPANDEHI: Activists of All Nepal National Independent Students Union -Revolutionary today torched two government vehicles in Butwal of Rupandehi. A vehicle each belonging to Nepal Drinking Water Corporation and Revenue Investigation Office were those set to fire by the Maoist students.
Engineer at NDWC, Hari Prasad Shrestha, informed that their vehicle was torched while the pipes were being loaded. While, the vehicle of revenue office was torched at Neapalgunj road.
According to the police, a the group had torched the vehicles chanting slogans against the government. Both vehicles are partly damaged in the arson.
A fire brigade, which was called immediately after the incident, doused the fire instantly. Chairman of ANNISU-R Rupandehi TP Rijal said, "We attacked the vehicles to protest the government's decision of phasing out the PCL level from the government colleges."
