Some youths of Marekatahare village development committee in Dhankuta district on Tuesday beat up Maoist Dhankuta district member and 11-number area in-charge Ashok in the Arkhaule bazaar. They beat Ashok up, saying he, brandishing a pistol some days ago in the Leguwa bazaar, had warned them not to take to gambling. Some other locals rescued the 11-number area in-charge, Ashok.
