Bardiya, June 23:

A group of persons, including the Maoist cadres, today attacked the representatives of the seven-party alliance who had reached here to study the process and development in returning land seized by the Maoists during the conflict. They were attacked at Manau VDC of the Rajapur Tapu in Bardiya.

UML Bardiya district vice chairman, Hari Gyawali and Manau VDC secretary of the UML, Chhatak Chaudhari, were injured in the attack.

A team, including Maoist Bardiya secretary Sandeep, rights activists and seven-party leaders had arrived at the Manau VDC today.

INSEC Bardiya representative Narayan Subedi alleged that Maoist district member Ganesh Aryal ordered his men to beat up the visiting representatives of the political parties.
