Dhankuta, March 6:

A group of armed Maoists detonated a pressure cooker bomb in the premises of district education office, Dhankuta, this morning.

According to district police office, two masked Maoists had detonated the bomb at about 5. 45 in the morning. Windows and doors of the building and computers have been damaged in the blast, police officials said.

The blast has also caused damage to three rooms of the office of the eastern regional education directorate which is adjoined with the district education office. No human casualty has been reported in the incident.

Eye witnesses said the Maoists had made blank firing and fled away towards the nearby forest shouting Maoist slogans after the blast. Large number of security personnels have been mobilised in the area immediately after the blast. No one has been reported arrested.
