Maoists free two cops

Rautahat, March 19:

The Maoists today released two policemen they had abducted on Friday.

The Maoists had abducted head constable Suresh Kumar Yadav and his wife, police constable Menuka Devi Yadav, from Paurahi jungle area of Rautahat, while the couple were on their way to Sunsari on a motorbike.

Maoist area secretary, Kajiman, handed the policemen over to rights activists and journalists at a programme held at an undisclosed place in Rautahat today.

Meanwhile, Kajiman said the commander of Pratap Memorial Brigade Rabin, who was injured during a clash with the security forces on March 16, had died the following day.
