Maoists in hurry to lead govt: Poudel

Tanahun, May 7:

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel today blamed the Maoists of hurrying to lead a government even when they have not secured two-third majority in the total Constituent Assembly and when there has not been any agreement over a coalition government.

Speaking at an interaction with the entrepreneurs in Damauli today, Minister Poudel also expressed concern over the Maoists’ continued intimidation of people. “The country is still going through uncertainty even after the completion of historical election,” he said.

“The PLA soldiers are still in cantonments and the Young Communist League cadres are out in the public. Who knows what will happen tomorrow?” he asked.

On CPN-Maoist chairman’s speech at a programme held on International Labour Day, in which he indicated for a communist order state, Minister Poudel said communism would not realise economic revolution here. “Production should be increased to decrease poverty,” he said.

“NC will continue fighting for the freedom and right of Nepali people,” he said. Entrepreneurs and members of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Tanahun branch, demanded security, removal of syndicate system in transport, and exemption of tax in food and other essential items.
