Human right activists today said that the Maoists had tortured a youth, Kumar Pariyar, to death at Handikhola of Shreebhanjyang, Kerabari. Pariyar was in the Maoists’ captivity for some time on charges of stealing arms and ammunition.

Presenting the report on the killing of Kumar Pariyar in Lamjung yesterday, general secretary of INSEC, Kundan Aryal, said the government and rebels are openly violating human rights. Aryal said the Maoists were more guilty of incidents of murder and violence then the government. “The Maoists should expel those party cadres involved in the murder.”
