Maoists must mend ways, says Deuba
Nepalgunj, July 10:
Nepali Congress-Democratic president Sher Bahadur Deuba today said that the constituent assembly (CA) polls is impossible unless the Maoists implement the commitments reached with the seven parties.
Inaugurating the ninth national convention of NC-D affiliated Nepal Students’ Union here today, he said: “The Maoists have not returned the seized land and property yet, they have not vacated the government offices and the activities of the Maoist youth wing Young Communist League are anarchic.”
“Prachandaji, why did you sign the agreements if they are not implemented,” he said. “The police are deployed to maintain security and the YCL cannot assume the role of the police,” he said. “People should have a fearless environment to cast votes,” he said, adding that the CA polls should be held on November 22 at any rate.
