Maoists state declaration unwise: Oli

Damak: CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli today called the Maoist declaration of autonomous states an ‘unwise step’. He also accused the former rebels of trying to deceive the people by engaging in a number of imprudent works.

The influential leader questioned the repeated visits of Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to Hong Kong, adding that the latter’s foreign visits had turned fruitless.

Inaugurating a party convention here, Oli said, ‘’The Maoists have not been acting responsibly though they boast of being the largest party.” He, however, said there was no alterative to consensus among the main parties to draft the new statue and to restore peace in the country. Oli also laid the foundation stone of a party office building in Damak-15 today.
