Market monitoring

DAMAULI: Tanahun District Administration Office has stepped up market monitoring from Saturday after consumers complained of the black marketing of food items and petroleum products. Assistant Chief District Officer Kishwor Kumar Chaudhary said the monitoring team inspected gas dealers, food go-downs, price lists and quality of foods, among others, at Dumre bazaar of the district on Saturday.  Date expired food items like ghee, cooking oil, salt, biscuits and junk foods were seized and destroyed on the premises of Area Police Office, Dumre, on Saturday. The monitoring team is led by Chaudhary along with the representatives from District Police Office, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Small and Cottage Development Committee, Consumers Forum as well as mediapersons, among others. DAO informed that the team would also monitor markets at Aanbu Khairani, Dumre, Dulegaunda, Bhimad, Khairanitar of the district.
