Market monitoring expedited in Bhojpur district

BHOJPUR: Local administration has expedited market monitoring in the eastern hilly district of Bhojpur.

Bhojpur District Administration Office has started the monitoring of the market by creating two committees under the leadership of two assistant Chief District Officers.

During the market monitoring conducted on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, the monitoring team found expired products over Rs 1 million in the district informed Assistant CDO and coordinator of market monitoring Upendra Neupane.

According to Neupane, the team destroyed expired products including beer, instant noodles, biscuits collectively worth around Rs 97,177, which were seized on Wednesday alone from various grocery stores and hotels in the district.

The teams had inspected 29 stores from District Hospital to Char Bhanjyang on Wednesday while two teams led by Assistant CDO Neupane and Assistant CDO Prayas Bhattarai also monitored the market on Thursday morning.

The team warned the stores and hotel proprietors of strict action should they be found selling expired products again.
