Marriage no bar for schooling
KHOTANG: Married women at Simpani Village Development Committee in the district, who had stopped studies and kept themselves busy in household chores, are seen heading to a school of late.
The women have
decided to pursue higher education after the establishment of a higher secondary school in the village.
Their family members have also been supporting and encouraging them in their bid to pursue higher education.
More than 100 married women have joined the school.
Pramila Khadka, who reached the school after an hour walk, said, “I have full support of my family members.’’
“I want to be independent after completing higher education,’’
Manmaya Khatiwada of Sapteswor Chhitapokhari-4 said, “I have been performing household duties to help my sister-in-law study.”
Kumar Parajuli, a teacher at Bhagwati Higher Secondary School said that most of the students in the Higher Secondary Schools now are married women.
