Massive fire breaks out in Bhojpur district headquarters

BHOJPUR: Five houses were reduced to cinders while seven others were partially burned in an inferno in the Bhotepasal area of Bhojpur Bazaar  on Sunday.

The fire broke out at Thir Kumar Portel's jewellery shop following LPG leakage and engulfed other houses in the neighbourhood, according to eyewitnesses.

With the help of locals and a fire engine, security personnel contained the fire in two hours at around 6:45 pm.

Telephone lines and power supply have been affected in the district headquarters due to the fire.

BHOJPUR: A massive fire broke out in Bhojpur Bazaar, the headquarters of Bhojpur district in eastern Nepal, on Sunday late afternoon, reducing several houses to cinders.

Locals as well as security personnel from Nepal Army and Nepal Police are struggling to contain the inferno that started at the Bhotepasal area at around 4 pm.

No human casualty has been reported yet.

A fire engine of the Bhojpur Municipality has also been deployed to fight the fire.

People in the affected area are seen taking out their belongings from their houses and rushing to a safer area.
