RAUTAHAT: In view of possible epidemic outbreak in flood-hit areas, District Health Office of Rautahat started dispatching basic medicines to area health posts on Wednesday.
Earlier, floods had inundated area health posts of Dewahi, Ajagaibi, Badaharwa, Matsari, Karuniya, Inarwa, Tejapakad, Rajpur, Basantapati, Auraiya, Banjaraha, Garuda, damaging the stock of medicines, among many other things, there.
District Health Officer Dr Nabal Kishor Jha has ordered health workers not to stay away from duty given the gravity of the situation. Jha said his office would organise mobile health camps in the flood-affected areas from Thursday. DHO also urged people to consume water using chlorine and other water purifiers.
