Rajbiraj, December 10

A struggle committee formed to pile pressure for early construction of the proposed Ramraja Prasad Singh Health Science Institute in Rajbiraj, Saptari, submitted a memorandum to the prime minister today.

A team led by the struggle committee Coordinator Sukharam Yadav handed a memo to Chief District Officer Ananda Kumar Thakur to send it to the prime minister. The statement has cited frustration among the locals caused by delay in the construction of the proposed facility and urged the PM to take necessary initiative to ensure that work gained momentum.

Struggle committee members, who reached the administration chanting slogans, demanded  the government address their concern. As per the government announcement to set up the institute, an infrastructure preparation development committee office has been set up in Rajbiraj to take construction work of the proposed facility ahead.

Though some Rs 400 million is set aside for preparatory work related to environment impact assessment and detailed project report, work is yet to start.
