Meritorious student is broke for higher studies

Nepalgunj, July 18:

A student who passed the SLC exam this year securing distinction marks is worried about raising funds for higher studies.

Bhim Bahadur Khadka, 16, who passed the SLC exam from the Khajura-based Gyanodaya Higher Secondary School of Bageshwori VDC with 80 per cent marks lacks fund for his higher studies.

“As we have no property, I am finding it difficult to manage funds. My father is in India and my mother is a daily wager “ Bhim Bahadur said.

“I want to bcome an engineer after joining the science faculty, however, my dream is very difficult to materialise due to the lack of fund,” Bhim said, adding he wished someone provided him a scholarship for studies .

Assistant headmaster of Gyanodaya School Rishiram Sapkota said that Bhim Bahadur was disciplined and studious since childhood.

“As the economic condition is very poor, the school provided scholarship up to SLC to Bhim Bahadur,” Sapkota added.

Three brothers and one sister of Bhim Bahadur have already married and are living separately.
