Micro-finance staffer robbed of Rs 4 lakh

A group of three persons opened fire on a staffer of a micro-finance and looted around Rs four lakh from him at Saunetar, Dharan, this afternoon.
Sunsari Police Chief SP Rajan Adhikari said the group of three miscreants had opened fire on Shambhu Gachhadar of Jeevan Bikah Laghubutta Limited and made off with the money. Gachhadar sustained injuries after he was shot at in his left waist and elbow. He is receiving treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Doctors have said that Gachhadar is out of danger.
“Preliminary investigation shows that the gang had stopped Gachhadar while he was returning to his office on a motorbike after collecting money from Yangsila area in Morang,” said SP Adhikari.
“They stopped me saying that they wanted to check my bag.
When I protested, they started shooting at me and made off with more than Rs four lakh in cash,” Gachhadar told police.
A police team led by DSP Dundiraj Neupane had reached the incident site. “We have tightened security checking in and around the incident site and launched a search operation,” said Neupane.
