KATHMANDU: A person died while another was critically injured after a microbus hit the cycle they were riding on, in Bankatuwa-7 of Banke district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rachana Shahi (19) of Kohalpur-10.

The microbus (Bhe 1 Ja 696) had hit the cycle at Rangila Chok of the area at around 5 am today.

Shahi, who was critically injured in the accident, had succumbed to the wounds while undergoing treatment at the Kohalpur Medical College Hospital in the district.

Sandesh Kunwar, who was critically injured in the accident, has been referred to Lucknow, India for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Banke police have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for further investigation.
