Itahari, May 27 :

Following the death of a worker by electrocution on Friday, staff of Reliance Spinning Mill in Khanar, Sunsari halted the production activities on Saturday, demanding compensation for the victim.

Kuber Miya, a worker of Subba Construction of the Mill’s construction department, died of electrocution.

A meeting of Miya’s father, JK Subba of Subba Construction, management committee of the mill and representatives of the workers’ union today decided that Subba Construction would provide Rs 150,000 to Kuber’s family and Reliance would employ Kuber’s father, said Aiyub Hussen, central vice-chairman of Nepal Building Construction Workers’ Union.
