Minister for republic before polls

Birendranagar, September 4:

Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma today said the constituent assembly polls cannot be held until the parliament declares the country a republican state.

Minister Bishwokarma expressed this view while speaking at a press meet organised in Birendranagar by the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association of Surkhet.

Stating that it was necessary to wipe out all sorts of possible conspiracies before the CA elections, Bishwokarma said the monarchy is the main obstacle for the polls.

All types of reactionary forces will be swept away by the CA polls, Bishwokarma said, adding that the royalists are trying to foil the elections thinking that their existence would come to an end. The rescheduling of the CA polls after June and the recent blasts in the capital are due to royalists’ conspiracy, he added.

Bishwokarma said: “We sacrificed for the CA polls, so we never run away from it. But, if the elections were foiled again, we would again launch massive campaigns with people’s support.”
