Minister Khadka meets Bhutanese PM

KATHMANDU: Minister for Urban Development, Narayan Khadka, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay in Thimphu.

Khadka is in the Butanese capital currently for the Fourth Meeting of the SAARC Ministers on Poverty Alleviation, held in Thimphu yesterday.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Thursday, Khadka and Togbay during the meeting exchanged ideas on further enhancement of bilateral relations between two friendly countries.

On the occasion, the Minister also thanked the Prime Minister Togbay for Bhutan’s prompt support to Nepal in the aftermath of the devastating April 25 earthquake and the International Conference on Nepal’s Reconstruction held on June 25, 2015.

Meanwhile, Khadka also met Bhutanese Finance Minister Lyonpo Namgay Dorji on Tuesday.

Ministers from seven SAARC regions, including Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were present at the regional meeting.

The Nepali delegation including high government officials will return home today, the MoFA said.
