TANSEN: Minister for Irrigation Bal Krishna Khand today said that bulk integration of the Maoist combatants in the Nepali Army was not acceptable to Nepali Congress.

Speaking at a meeting of party cadres organised by the Nepali Congress Palpa today he said, “The Maoists are trying to destroy NA’s structure by integrating politically indoctrinated combatants,’’ adding, “We will stand against it.’’ He also said that the combatants should be rehabilitated as per their capacity and skills.

Saying that civilian supremacy cannot exist without democracy he accused the Maoists of trying to break harmony among parties by raising ethnic issues.

Claiming NC as a party of the people, he said that NC’s ideology was recognised world wide. He also said that his party needed a new leadership, though.
