JHAPA: Minister for Irrigation Umesh Yadav on Wednesday made a field observation of irrigation projects under construction in Jhapa and Ilam.

Yadav was accompanied by officials from Irrigation Department and sub-divisions. Yadav took stock of embankments constructed on the banks of rivers and streams by Embankment and Water-induced Disaster Control Office.

The team visited Kankai Irrigation Project at Shivasatasi, Jhapa. Chief engineer Birendra Yadav, at the irrigation project, briefed about the project’s background, current state and future possibilities.

While visiting Ratuwa Irrigation Project in Chulachuli of Ilam, Yadav directed officials to speed up repair work at the project without fear and interference.
