Ministers lay foundation stone for rebuilding storm-hit houses

The foundation stone of the Bara-Parsa People’s Residence Project was laid simultaneously in the districts on Saturday.
Deputy Prime Ministers duo Ishowr Pokhrel and Upendra Yadav, along with some ministers of the federal government and Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut of Province 2 laid the foundation stone for 1,453 houses that were damaged by the devastating storm in Bara and its neighbouring district Parsa on March 31.
They laid the foundation stone for the houses in 12 storm hit areas today.
DPM and Minister of Defence Pokhrel laid the foundation stone for construction of houses at Purainiya of Pheta Rural Municipality and DPM and Minister of Health Yadav laid the foundation stone at Chainpur of Birgunj Metropolis.
Similarly, Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa laid the foundation stone at Khatuwajagdi of Prasauni Rural Municipality, Minister of Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal at Telgai of Mahagadhimai Municipality.
Likewise, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Planning Raghubir Mahasetha laid the foundation stone at Hardiya of Subarna Rural Municipality and Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Lal Babu Pandit laid the foundation stone at Benauli of Pachharauta Municipality.
Likewise, Minister of Women and Children and Elderly Citizens Tham Maya Thapa laid the foundation stone at Bhaluhi of Pheta Rural Municipality, Minister of Water Supply Bina Magar at Parwanipur Rural Municipality, Province 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut at Rampurba of Devtal Rural Municipality and Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsaman Pun at Jagannathpur of Birgunj.
The government had decided to give the full responsibility of constructing storm-damaged houses to the Nepali Army.
As many as 3,000 Nepali Army and 750 engineers have been deployed for reconstruction work in the affected areas. All the ministers and Province 2 Chief minister had gathered at Purainiya before heading towards their respective places for laying the foundation stones.
At the programme, DPM Pokhrel said NA has started construction work after completing all procedures from today.
He directed the province and local governments to help the NA team complete the project before monsoon.
