Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the concerned authorities to speed up development work by removing procedural hassles.

In a review meeting on budget implementation of the current fiscal held at the PM’s office in Kathmandu today, PM Oli asked the ministers and secretaries to focus on their work.

On the occasion, PM Oli also urged all to work seriously. “This meeting is not the review of mere imagination. It was organised to assess the implementation status of government policy, programme and budget till date,” the PM added.

Furthermore, the PM directed the ministers and secretaries not to go for unnecessary foreign trips and stressed the need for result-oriented work.

The PM was of the view that it was necessary to complete the designated task without being extravagant as the government was following austerity measures.

During the review meeting, Minister of Finance Yubaraj Khatiwada and Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Pushpa Kandel also put forth their opinion.
