Ministers visit Jajarkot

JAJARKOT: A team of medicos led by Health Minister Umakanta Chaudhary today reached Jajarkot, where 61 persons have lost lives to diarrhoea in the remote district since April.

Minister Chaudhary directed health workers not to leave the areas affected by the epidemic until it is taken under control.

The team plans to be stationed at Khagetkot for the eastern villages and Thalaha bazaar for the western villages.

Medics with medicine supply will be mobilised in the VDCs gripped by the disease.

Another team led by State Minister for Health Khadka Bahadur Basyal has also approached the district headquarters. The team comprises CA member from Jajarkot-1 Kali Bahadur Malla, health secretary Dirgha Singh Bam and Dr Ishwori Prasad Upadhyaya of Health Service Department.

Accompanying health practitioners will fan out to the affected areas. Six health workers in the ministerial team and other four from Regional Health Directorate will reach out to the people in need of medical attention.

State Minister Basyal hoped the disease would be controlled with combined efforts of all concerned.

Secretary Bam called on the political parties, civil society, government employees and mediapersons to lend support to the urgent task.
