KATHMANDU: A cabinet meeting today instructed ministries concerned to stop the export of pebble and sand from the Chure range.

"The meeting also asked the ministries to discuss with the parliamentary committee concerned and to formulate a policy to prevent adverse effects of the building material export," said Shankar Pokharel, Minister for Information and Communications.

Today's meeting also decided to begin consultations with various political parties to seek their support for the Seventh Amendment Bill to the interim constitution, which has already been tabled in the parliament. Once the Bill is endorsed from the House, the President and the Vice President will be able to take their oaths of office and secrecy in any national language. It will also reactivate Vice President Paramananda Jha, the minister said.

The cabinet decided to accept Rs 802.5 million aid from German Development Bank for the Third Metropolitan Project. The meeting also decided to receive about Rs 2 million from the German government and German Development Bank to develop home solar power system. The government will get Rs 546 million grant from JICA for the same.

The meeting also entrusted Nepal Rastra Bank as the body to supervise the Employee's Provident Fund and the Citizen's Investment Fund.
