Minor brutally murdered in Pokhara

POKHARA: A 10-year-old girl, Shreya Bishwokarma, has been found dead at Pumdibhumdi in Pokhara Metropolitan City-22 on Tuesday, police said.

She was reported missing around 5:30 pm on Monday evening while returning from the school. However, the next morning, her body was found near a bush some 300 metres away from the house at Kodi in Pumdibhumdi.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nabin Karki at Baidam ward police office, preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was thrashed to death with a stone.

"The victim had stone induced scars, bruises all over the neck, head, abdomen and other parts of the body," DSP Karki shared.

District Police Office Kaski Spokesperson Rabindra Man Gurung said that investigation into the case is underway. Police are yet to ascertain the perpetrators, he added.

Meanwhile, the body has been taken to the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara for an autopsy.

It has been learned that the victim was a third grader at Leela Primary School in the area.
