BAITADI: An eight-year-old girl was crushed to death by a tractor in Achham district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Manisha BK of Dhamali VDC-5 in the district.

The tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 7502) heading towards Belakhet from Kamal Bazaar ran over the girl killing her on the spot, according to Area Police Office, Kamal Bazaar.

The girl was walking in Narkhola area when she met with the accident, added police.

The body has been kept at the Primary Health Centre, Kamal Bazaar for the postmortem, said Police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and have launched a search to find the driver Dhan Bahadur BK of Dailekh, who fled the scene immediately, after the incident.
