Mishaps claim four lives

Chitwan, February 14:

Four persons were killed and 18 injured in two mishaps in Chitwan today.

Three persons were killed and 12 injured when a bus heading to the Kathmandu from Chitwan collided with a mini-truck on Muglin-Malekhu section of the Prithvi highway.

Rameshwor Neupane, 21, of Thansing, Bibek Lama, 18, of Kalikasthan and Krishna Tamang, 10, of Bhadratar of Nuwakot who were critically injured in the accident died in the course of treatment in separate hospitals, according to the Chitwan District Police Office. While Neupane died in Tanahun District Hospital, Lama and Tamang died in the teaching hospital of the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur. The injured are being treatment in different hospitals in Chitwan.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed and six injured when fire broke out in a van bound for Muglin

from Kathmandu at Darechowk-9 in Chitwan today.

Man Kumari Adhikari, 80, a resident of Satdobato of Lalitpur, was burnt to death after fire broke out in the van due to leakage of gas, the police said. The injured have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
