POKHARA: One person who was reported missing in Baglung jeep accident has been found dead in Badigaad river, on Wednesday, police said.

Police identified the deceased person as Dhan Bahadur Karki, 65, of Ishma Rural Municipality-4 in Gulmi district. With this, the death toll has climbed to 15 in the deadly accident which occurred on Tuesday.

According to the Provincial Police Office, Gandaki, police handed over the body to victim's relatives after an autopsy today. Meanwhile, three injured persons who were airlifted to Kathmandu have been undergoing treatment in the capital, police informed.

Locals spotted the body floating in the river and informed the nearby police station around 11:30 today.

Earlier, the incident had occurred after an overloaded jeep carrying 18 persons had plunged some 500 metres down into the river, killing 14 and injuring 3 persons.
