Birgunj, September 3

A 13-year-old Amit Kumar Chaurasiya, who went missing from the hostel of JHP Secondary School from Powerhouse Chowk in Birgunj last Thursday, was found in Bihar, India.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gautam Thapa, the school administration had found Amit at Bihar’s Sugauli railway station and handed him over to his family in the presence of police last night.

JHP School Principal Ramindar Kaur said school employee Prem Chand Gupta had spotted Amit at Sugauli railway station and brought him back to Birgunj.

After the student went missing, the school had sent three staffers to India to search for him.

While Gupta was en route to Narkatiyajung, he had noticed Amit heading to Raxual in another train. He had convinced the child and brought him back to Birgunj, said Kaur. Amit’s father is Chair of Ward No 2 of Kalikamai Rural Municipality, Parsa.
