Moderate tremor of local magnitude 5.0 hits Ramechhap

KATHMANDU: A moderate tremor shook eastern districts and the Kathmandu Valley at 5:42 am on Monday.

The National Seismological Centre said it recorded an aftershock of the April 25 earthquake this morning also. The tremor was of local magnitude 5.0.

The coordinates 27.52°N, 86.2°E, provided by the NSC show that the epicentre lies near Sanghutar, east of the district headquarters Manthali.

A light aftershock of local magnitude 4.3 was recorded at 4.3 at 10:01 last night.

The NSC has recorded as many as 336 aftershocks of local magnitude 4.0 or above after the Gorkha Earthquake, which was of local magnitude 7.6, hit Nepal on April 25.
