Mohanpur accident toll six
DHANGADHI: The number of deaths in the road accident of Mohanpur along the Dhangadi-Attariya road section yesterday has reached six today.
According to the District Police Office, critically injured driver Khem Bahadur Shrestha succumbed to injuries at the Seti Zonal Hospital last night.
The police said that they found a dead body of Maniram Chaudhari of Geta VDC-4 at the site of the accident this morning too.
Meanwhile, Dhirendra Dhami of Geta VDC lost his life while being rushed to India for further treatment. Bhojraj Bhatta of Geta-2, Bamdev Joshi of Geta-5, Madaru Chaudhari of Geta-7 were declared dead on the spot. The other injured are undergoing treatment at the Seti Zonal hospital.
Meanwhile, a group vandalised the hospital building last night.
Acting medical superintendent, Ganesh Bahadur Singh said that they vandalized the hospital alleging that the hospital had not paid enough attention to the injured.
According to Singh, the vandals smashed the window panes of the emergency ward. He added, "We had to shift the patients from the emergency ward to save them from the attack."
Further, the relatives of the dead have obstructed the Geta-Mohanpur road section demanding compensation to the victims' families and free treatment for the injured.
