MORANG: A cart puller succumbed to injuries this morning after being hit by a tipper in Urlabari–4 of Morang district along the East-West Highway last night.

The tipper (Me 1 Kha 2200) heading toward west had hit Krishna Mandal (40) of Urlabari–3 at 10:30 pm yesterday.

Mandal, who was seriously injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at the Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar at 2:30 am, Inspector Raj Kuma Rai of the Area Police Office, Urlabari said.

The driver fled the scene with the tipper after the accident.

The police are searching for the driver and the vehicle.
