MORANG: The fire that broke out at the Century Spices Industry in Tankisinuwari VDC-2 of Morang district at 7 pm on Thursday was taken under control only this morning at around 9:30.

A joint team of security personnel and fire brigade were deployed throughout the night to tame the fire in the factory, police said. Industrialist and former lawmaker Moti Dugad is the owner of the factory.

The fire started from wielding process and spread in the factory, according to , said Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Bhandari of District Police Office, Morang.

Fire engines from Biratnagar, Dharan, Damak, Itahari and Inaruwa were called to contain the fire.

Details of the property destroyed in the blaze are yet to be ascertained.
